Thursday April 3rd will be a talk by Bee Keeper and Expert on Bee Plants Paul Davies of Heathmont Honey who has kept bee hives for 25 years.

Come along to Quad 3 at Burnley Horticultural College at 7.30pm. Drive west on Riversdale Road to City. As Riversdale becomes Swan Street IMMEDIATELY after the bridge turn hard left. Drive in narrow road and take second left turn. Park near the library, walk between the buildings  and cross the square to room Quad 3.

Bring your bee and honey objects and plants to create a learning display of eclectic antiques, potted herbs and bee friendly plants, honey jars, honeyed supper samples to share and recipes to include in the next ‘Herb Age’.

Do you own an embroidery with a bee? What about that Reference or Novel with Honey or Bee in its Title? I shall bring Gene Stratton Porter’s: ‘Keeper of the Bees’ a book that was my mother’s favourite and a prize to her before 1926.

So let us all bee Honeys and enter the evening with a Honeyed  “Bespoke” exhibit to enlighten all!

March 1st Meeting Was a Swap and Sale Market

The evening was a resounding success with many of Robin’s soaps sold, a pair of backless green watering clogs found a new owner, herb books and magazines jumped into new hands, Ginger jellies and tubs of mixed herbs and spices will flavour different families’ foods and many cuttings and carefully cultured cuttings and sorted saved seeds will rejuvenate other member’s gardens as soon as that promised rain actually pours. Well done to all the stall holders’ displays and produce. What a group of creative people made such fun!
